The art displayed below is part of a larger series of works called After Crossings by the New York-based artist John Bowman and presented by Jon Oulman. The multi-venue cross-town exhibition challenges the traditional gallery model, asserting that fine art such as Bowman’s can be an essential part of public and communal spaces such as this, engaging more people in a single day than would normally attend a traditional gallery in any given week. Who needs flat screens and ESPN when one has landscapes, silhouettes, and erasures?

Works can be seen at the Amsterdam Bar and Hall in St. Paul and the Sheridan Room in Minneapolis. All pieces included in the series are for sale; contact Jon Oulman Presents for pricing and private viewings.

Crossings, Bowman’s 1988 work that inspired the exhibition, can be seen stage-side at the 331 Club now and forever.
